Digital Authority

Being present is not the same as being credible. Authority is the set of references, citations and relationships that tell people and machines this company is the source worth trusting.

Serves the Compound stage of the Method.

What it is

Authority cannot be bought without eventually being discounted. It is earned by publishing things worth referencing, by being described consistently everywhere that matters, and by relationships with the publications, communities and data sources your buyers already trust. We run that programme as an editorial and research effort, not a link-building campaign.

When you need it

  • Few or low-quality references; authority concentrated in a single domain or channel.
  • Inconsistent or missing entity information in the profiles and databases machines read first.
  • A history of purchased or exchanged links that now drags on credibility.
  • Research and expertise inside the company that never leaves it.

How we approach it

  1. Reference audit: who cites the company today, how, and how that compares with the sources that dominate its category.
  2. Entity programme: profiles, registries, data sources and structured data brought into consistency.
  3. Research-led digital PR: original data and analysis designed to be referenced by the publications that matter.
  4. Relationship work with editors, analysts and communities, slow, transparent and durable.

What we deliver

  • Reference and entity audit
  • Authority programme plan and quarterly targets
  • Research assets built for citation
  • Reference log: every citation earned and how

How we measure it

  • Referring sources gained from relevant, trusted publications
  • Entity consistency and coverage across key sources
  • Citations in generated answers for the tracked question set

Every figure we report carries a method note and a source. Where a result cannot be attributed with confidence, we say so.

How to Run a Prompt Panel for AI Citations

There is no Search Console for ChatGPT, Perplexity or AI Overviews. A prompt panel is the closest thing to one: a fixed set of buyer questions, asked the same way every month, with every cited source written down. Here is how we build and run ours.
